乐队最初的名字是“The Blue Notes”，是一支像Stones和the Animals那样的节奏布鲁斯摇滚乐队。1965年改名为“The Misunderstood”。1966年他们迁往英格兰去寻觅知音。

The Misunderstood是比较早地在现场演出中探索使用光线效果的乐队。它虽然未曾获得国际范围内的成功，但人们后来认为其创新性可以和“不列颠入侵”乐队相提并论。

Brief introduction

The group started under the name "The Blue Notes" as a basic R&B rock combo in the tradition of the Stones and the Animals. In 1965 they changed the band name to "The Misunderstood". They moved to England in 1966 in an attempt to find a sympathetic audience.

The Misunderstood is known for having pioneered the live light show. It had not achieved international success but has been belatedly recognized as nearly as innovative as that of the British Invasion bands.
