I lost a crocodile

This low-key tale is divided into two chronologically reversed phases. The first half is set in contemporary Lisbon and centers on an eccentric octogenarian Aurora, who constantly talks about her daughter who seems to not want to see her. She is mentally unstable and has a suspicion that her Cape Verdean maid is a voodoo against her. Before her death she sends her neighbor, Pilar, to pass word  to a man of which no one has ever heard her speak.

The second half is set in a Portuguese colony in Africa. Shortly before the beginning of the Portuguese colonial war, Aurora is a gorgeous, smoldering wife of a wealthy young man who has a farm at the foothill of Mount Tabu. But Aurora is involuntarily involved in a forbidden love affair with her husband's best friend. Hardly any dialogue, only narration and occasional music, the whole second phase suggests a new way of storytelling.

这个低调的故事分成颠倒时序的两部分。前一段发生在当代里斯本，年逾八十的古怪老太太Aurora一直唠叨她那不愿来访的女儿。老太太精神状态不太稳定，她怀疑自己的佛得角女佣是害人的巫师。临终前，她让邻居Pilar传话给一个她从未谈起的男人。

第二段故事发生在非洲的葡萄牙殖民地。就在葡萄牙殖民战争爆发前，当时的Aurora还是一个光艳照人的富人之妻，丈夫在Tabu山脚下拥有一个农场。但Aurora不由自主地与丈夫最好的朋友陷入了爱河。整个第二部分基本没有对话，只有画外音和偶尔出现的音乐，采用的是完全不同的叙述方式。
