The film is a darkly satiric blend of fantasy and reality.

Glauco, an alienated industrial designer, returns home from work. His wife is in bed with a serious headache. He is dissatisfied with the dinner which she left him and begins preparing himself a gourmet meal. While collecting ingredients he finds a revolver wrapped in a newspaper dating from 1934 proclaiming the death of famed American gangster John Dillinger.

Glauco cleans the gun and paints it red with white dots. He tries to keep himself amused, watches some television and film, listens to music and seduces their maid. At dawn after he shoots his wife to death, he drives to the seaside where he gets a job as a chef on a yacht.

孤僻的工业设计师Glauco下班回家。妻子正头痛得厉害卧床不起。他不满意妻子给自己准备的晚餐，开始自己动手烹制美味佳肴。在翻箱倒柜时他发现了一把左轮手枪，外面包着报纸。报纸是1934年的，报道的是著名美国黑帮人物John Dillinger死亡的消息。

Glauco把枪清洗了一下，又刷上红漆，画上白点。他试着自得其乐，看看电视和电影，听听音乐，还勾引了女仆。拂晓时分他射杀了妻子，然后驱车来到海边，上了一艘游艇，在那里找到一份厨师的工作。
