Mohammad is a student at a special school for blind children in Tehran. When summer break rolls around, Mohammad is the last student to be picked up by his family. His mother is dead, and his father, who earns a meagre wage working in a coal mine, sometimes considers abandoning the boy. However, father does eventually arrive.
Mohammad joyfully returns to his tiny village surrounding by dazzling fields of wild flowers. There are also his sisters and grandmother. His father is giving thoughts to re-marrying, and considers his handicapped son to be a stumbling block in his future matrimonial plans. At first father send him to a blind woodworker's workshop but grandma dose't agree. So father has to take Mohammad back though he still hopes for Mohammad's disapearance. The little wooden bridge breaks down. Suddenly father is very sorrowful and dives into the river.
We can't forget the little hand resuscitating under the illumination of sunset.
