It is a collection of four loosely related stories -all centered on a roadside cafeteria. Gino, a robber without a weapon, tries to hold up cafeteria but fails. Waitress Suzie eventually reveals that she too had considered robbing the place. Two amateur kidnappers take a rich teenage girl hostage and but their victim want to suicide. Two aging rock stars meet in the cafeteria by chance and talk about a stolen song and a stolen woman. Four seventy-year-old retired robbers who smuggle an old friend out of the hospital for a nostalgic trip also meet at the cafeteria.
