Chris Marker has been making and collaborating on the film for over 15 years. It focuses on the history of the International Left in the 1960s and 70s, particularly the rise of the New Left in France and the development of socialist movements in Latin America. The English title of A Grin Without A Cat is taken from Alice in Wonderland, the image of Lewis Carroll's Cheshire Cat. |
