The title is a literal translation of the Chinese term for the harvest season.

Cui Shunji is an ethnic Korean (shares with the director) woman. With a husband in jail and a son to support, she illegally sells self-made kimchi to survive along dusty industrial roads. A good-hearted cop arranges a license for her, and she also meets a married man with Korean roots to help carry her burden. These two men hold out hope but sadly she is betrayed. When a tragic misadventure befalls her son, Cui Shunji carries out an extreme, pitiless act of revenge.

崔顺姬是一位朝鲜族（导演也是）妇女。丈夫被关进了监狱，还给她留下了一个儿子。她靠在尘土飞扬的工业区道路旁非法售卖自制辣白菜谋生。一个好心的警察给她办理了许可证，她还碰到了一个朝鲜族的已婚男子协助她共度难关。这两个男人给她带来希望，但最终她还是被背叛了。当儿子因事故而身亡时，崔顺姬展开了极端无情的报复。
